You’ve probably heard that word “agile” used before. In software development and project management, it’s a well-known idea. Here I’m going to show you the exact methodology of HOW TO APPLY AGILITY IN OUR LIFE AND GET BENEFITED.
It is a methodology that organizes how teams work in order to produce faster and better outcomes, generally by delivering their product in tiny, consumable amounts and receiving feedback at each stage of the process.
Agility means “Nimbleness”. Almost all dictionaries will tell you that agility is “the ability to move quickly and from one to another place” and “the ability to think and understand quickly”.
An agile technique enables you to work quickly and adapt to changing circumstances with better outcomes.
Here’s how you may use this framework to become more flexible, find your flow and efficiency in your daily life.
1 Make a list of all your long and short-term objectives and tasks.
The first step is to create a work outline. Make a list of all your objectives and tasks that you can see and that are clearly on your to-do list right now.
To have a clear image of what you’ll be working with, write them down and establish your long-term and short-term goals.
For long-term goals, consider those tasks that may be completed in the coming week(s) or month(s), or even year. And for short-term, select those that have to be completed immediately or on that day, which can’t be delayed for weeks or more
If you plan to write a book, for example, the first step should be to begin studying your subject, deeply.
That all should be included in the list.
2 Narrow down the list now and strictly focus for Two weeks.
The next step is to narrow down your tasks into groups based on when they must be finished. Make a list of everything you need to get done in the next 15 days and keep it separate, and in mind.
Everything should be on your to-do list, including purchasing a new device, visiting the doctor, and learning a new skill online or in the nearby institute, everything should be on the list but must be narrowed down. And must be divided and prioritized based on their importance.
3 Carry out your sprint
Your sprint will take place during the next two weeks.
You must concentrate on your to-do list and do everything on it as per planning, done in the next step.
Check out your chores as you finish them, and attempt to get as much done as possible. And enjoy the process and achievement, and reward yourself.
4 Self-Audit every Two Weeks
It’s time to go back to the drawing board when the two weeks are up. Self-Audit yourself by checking out your to-do list to assess what you accomplished and what you didn’t.
Find out gaps and fix them as soon as possible.
Check to see if any tasks are no longer relevant or need to be modified, as you move forward, and edit your task list accordingly.
Any new tasks should be added to the list with a lot of care.
5 Customize if you need to
The methodology used in agility aims to make you more adaptable. Obviously, certain jobs may emerge in the midst of a sprint.
So, what are your options now?
Consider if they can be added within your next two-week revision or whether they need to wait for the upcoming sprint.
If not, include them into your current sprint, but be sure to reschedule certain tasks. Agility is all about being flexible.
Because you only have so much time and energy, don’t feel obligated to do everything in those 15 days.
You may lose your interest and also mental energy. Instead, prioritize the things that are urgent and move to the next week or later which seems not much important.
Remember, being flexible is very important but not a procrastinator.
6 Concentrate on a Specific tasks.
It’s not uncommon for the same chores to be performed every two weeks in your task bucket, such as paying bills.
In certain instances, you can concentrate on these activities throughout each evaluation and attempt to discover a method to improve them.
You can outsource them. Try to automate them without taking your time and energy.
Examine if they are truly essential or whether you are doing them in the most efficient manner possible. But, you can still outsource or automate.
Do the same for any critical tasks that aren’t motivating you, especially ones that you would delay on and may throw you in the procrastination cage.
If the same tasks keep reappearing, unfinished, consider removing them or tackling them in a different way.
Optimize them as soon as possible.
The following are the key advantages of adopting agility in this manner:
