The big news for Twitter lovers has just come out yesterday, around 1:29 pm, EST, that; ‘TWITTER ROLLS OUT ITS “SPACE” FEATURE SETTINGS FOR ITS USERS’. After slowly extending access over the course of the year, Twitter said in its tweet yesterday that its audio chatroom feature, known as Twitter Spaces, is now accessible to anybody who wishes to host a Space on iOS and Android.

Earlier this year, the company restricted Spaces hosting to accounts with at least 600 followers, claiming that these accounts were more likely to have a positive experience because they already had an audience.

Twitter has now announced that the option will be available to all of its mobile users on the Twitter app and can enjoy this incredible feature.

All Revealed in a Tweet

According to the graphic posted alongside yesterday’s announcement, users may begin their first Space by hitting the Compose button – the same one they would use to send a tweet.

Twitter had previously experimented with giving Spaces its own tab in the app, but this hasn’t been widely implemented and isn’t shown in the current graphic released with the news.

In fact, Twitter users who are participating in a beta test for a new feature called Communities will see the Communities button in the center of their app’s menu tab.

The dedicated Spaces tab on Twitter has just been expanded to more users in English on iOS, but it is not yet available on Android, according to Twitter.

Since its beta launch last year, Twitter has been constantly iterating on Spaces. Spaces hosts may now add up to two co-hosts and up to ten speakers, enabling for bigger events with more moderators. This summer, it also discontinued its Stories feature, Fleets, leaving Spaces as the only offering on the top row of the Twitter mobile app.

Following the breakout social networking success app Clubhouse, which became a popular activity at the height of the epidemic, a number of large platforms have released their own audio networking products since unveiling Spaces.

Now, Facebook’s Live Audio Rooms, Spotify Greenroom, Discord, Reddit, Public.com, and more services compete with Spaces and Clubhouse.
